OF
quote:
I am 100% honest about this. My dad, coming from a poor East Euro immigrant family was a math whiz, all city. My mom got all of the valedictorian awards. Every aptitude test I have taken, Navy entrance, aptitiude for employment with one of the biggest corps in the world. I aced them all. Especially high in mechanical ability. My son took the stanford test for all students in CA and got 99% in math, does not goto 100%. I think the math skipped my generation. This is not bragging but a pathetic admission of failure. Not as bad as my brother. He tested genius in math and physics. MIT came to our house to interview him. He followed my loser path and started gambling, only failed that also. Talk about a waste of talent. He also joined the Navy. My dad joined the Army. I just pissed away every opportunity I had to do it the right way. Many doors were open, I walked right by them for the allure of drugs and gambling. I am not asking for pity either. It is my tough luck, but not even luck, poor choices. Like I said, all I can do now is get my kids on the right path. Son just took SAT. He said he got every math question right. Supposed to get the score today. Daughter is also very sharp, and atheletic, volleyball, basketball and section qualifier on swimming. Very good grades. I actually pay my kids for good grades
